Linda Oliver, Chairman of the Association's Conservative Policy Forum, writes:
It is so important the Conservative Party reflects your ideas – so I'm urging all members of South Cambs Association to come to our CPF meetings.
The CPF is the Association's political voice: by using it, you are influencing our Party’s manifesto and policies – the appropriate Secretary of State is sent a summary of responses to the papers we discuss.
The importance of the CPF was recognised in the Pickles Review after the 2017 election which showed how vital it is we get the manifesto right and appeal to all sectors of the community – including people who are not members of the Party.
If you want to invite your friends to our CPF meetings please do so; they will be made very welcome – if we want to win the battle of ideas, we have to open our groups to people from outside the Party and feed their ideas into policy-making. It might also encourage them to join the Association or help in elections!.
In the last couple of months we've discussed 'The digital age' and 'Disability and inclusion' – which covered housing, health, transport and other related issues. Our next paper will be on 'Global Britain' and will be published in January.
If you would like to go to this meeting, please e-mail me, Linda Oliver, via cpf@southcambsconservatives.co.uk and let me know so I can be in touch when we have the full details.
- If you are not currently on the CPF mailing list, please e-mail scca@southcambsconservatives.co.uk ask for your name to be added.
- Another date for your diary – The CPF Dinner on Friday, 15th February at Bourn Golf and Leisure Club, where our guest speaker is George Freeman, the MP for Mid Norfolk and UK Chairman of the CPF.
