BBQ at the Conservative Office, 14 July

Saturday morning, we all woke up to yet MORE rain, but this wasn’t going to deter the office staff and fundraising team from holding their BBQ!!

Up went a gazebo in the Hardwick office 'garden' to host the BBQ and chief cooks Stephen Frost (right) and Colin Barker, and another with a few tables and chairs for those who wanted to be outside but not risk the weather.

Inside the meeting room, tables were soon groaning with the weight of plates, dishes, cutlery and much food... with a few chairs dotted about the room, just in case.

There were lots of salads, burgers, sausages and chicken drumsticks – and to follow, the most delicious Pavalovas and fresh fruit salad and cream.  Wine, beer and orange juice where there to whet the whistle.

Thirty people – seemed a lot more than that – all enjoyed the culinary delights of Stephen and Colin's cooking and with summer music CDs playing in the background to mask any confidential conversations, a classic Tory raffle and the sun shining for most of the time, it was a really good event.

A big thank you to Denise, Dorothy, Pamela, Stephen and Colin without whom nothing would have happened.
