Between now and 7th May, we will be sharing with you 15 reasons to vote Conservative on the big day with a combination of local and national issues.

1.  Conservatives believe in local housing based on local needs

In essence, this means:

• Development has to be sensible, with sustainable developments appropriate to the existing infrastructure and services, such as medical centres, shops, roads and schools.
• Llocal planning must take into account the need to provide starter homes for the young people of our villages – often forced to move away when bringing up families of their own – whether they wish to rent or buy.
• Just as important, houses must be well designed and laid out with the extra facilities needed by the new residents funded by the developers.
• Where affordable homes are built, they are allocated to local people on the housing list.
• And when new schemes are being considered, much more thought is given to attracting (and keeping) new industry to villages to help them survive as local communities rather than commuter zones.
