Eric Lay, a very longstanding supporter of the Conservatives and member of the Association, has penned his thoughts on the 2015 general election:

      The People’s flag is deepest red
      Now it’s waved goodbye to Ed.

      They say two Eds are better than one
      But the one called Balls has been an gone.

      The other went of his own accord
      Feeling a failure, he fell on his sword.

      The Lib Dems as a party are all but through
      So Nick Clegg fell on his sword too.

      The ‘working man’ put his cross
      Now David Cameron is the Boss.

      Labour supporters may shout and boo
      But we now have a Government entirely Blue.

      So South Cambs Tories shout whoopee
      ‘Cos we have Heidi Allen as our MP.
