This Saturday, 3rd September, is the Association's Fun Day at Elsworth recreation ground – with the main event being the cricket match between the President's XI and the Chairman's XI.
What will make it a really special event is not just the taking part, but the opportunity to win a new trophy: the David Cameron Challenge Cup.
The Cup is the centre piece of a new, annual challenge for South Cambridgeshire Conservative Association members.
And while, unfortunately, Mr Cameron is not able to attend this year, due to a prior engagement, he will be invited to future events.
"We wanted to celebrate David Cameron's achievements from when he took office in May 2010," says Penny Brown, chairman of the Association's Fundraising Committee.
"He faced and overcame some enormous challenges after 13 years of socialist government, which left the UK's economy in tatters and a nanny state in charge. Thanks to Mr Cameron, his colleagues and their policies, the UK is now in very rude health.
"As an Association, one of our biggest challenges is increasing membership – and offering something extra.
"The Cup will be the centre piece challenge for quizzes, baking competitions, a South Cambs’ Got Talent, other sporting events – any number of different ways where once a year we can have fun and attract new people into the Association: there will be something for everyone at some time or other."
Meanwhile, back to Saturday's big event. It's at Elsworth recreation ground (Smith Street, Elsworth, CB23 4JD), with the match beginning at 1.30 pm.
And if you bring a home baked cake by 2.00 pm on Saturday, you can be part of the Great Conservative Bake-Off. Cakes will be judged and there will be a prize for the best cake.
