Alison Elcox is the Conservative candidate for Arrington, Croydon, Gamlingay, Hatley, Little Gransden and Longstowe in the SCDC election on 5th May.
Alison is an experienced and unbiased former District Councillor who knows the ropes and worked diligently on behalf of Bourn ward.
Having moved out of the ward to Arrington a couple of years ago, she’s missed helping the local community.
Now she wants to work for the better of Gamlingay, Hatley, Little Gransden, Croydon, Arrington and Longstowe.
With four children between 13 and 20, Alison is in touch with the younger element of our society, the frustrations they face and the impact this has on the rest of the community.
What I will do as your District Councillor by Alison Elcox
"Until recently I was a member of Arrington Parish Council and was the District Councillor for Bourn ward until I moved to Arrington.
I have a lot of experience in helping residents with issues which affect them – from planning to drains.
If elected as your District Councillor on 5th May, my aim is to:
- Always be approachable by phone or e-mail.
- Work on behalf of all residents without exception.
- Visit residents with an issue to understand their problem.
- Help whenever or wherever I can, or explain why I can’t.
- Report facts completely and without bias.
"As a District Councillor nothing gave me greater pleasure than a smiling resident who realised a problem we’d solved has gone away for good.
I have plenty of time available and I am very keen to become your District Councillor – and be a fresh face working on your behalf."
Taking a stand
‘Beyond the call of duty.’ Jeanette Wood and Ronnie Gill live very close to Rouses Wood in Croydon.
"They asked me for help with an appeal against a planning application to turn this ancient wood into a camping retreat," said Alison.
"Faced with repeated delays, errors and lack of assistance, in despair they turned to me as I had previous experience in winning at appeal."
“We are extremely grateful to you, Alison, for stepping in and managing to get the appeal rejected,” says Jeanette. “It was beyond the call of duty.”
