South Cambridgeshire Conservative Association is looking to recruit a part-time Constituency Organiser.
There are key elections taking place in 2021 and this is a crucial role.
This role requires flexibility and working hours will of necessity be varied and flexible. This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic, organised and with a can-do attitude.
Some of the tasks you will be responsible for are:
- To maintain and improve the Conservative Party’s contact and communication with the electorate throughout the constituency
- To ensure that Conservative Candidates are nominated for all elections
- To work closely with the Conservative Council Groups and undertake the necessary planning and preparation to work towards ensuring that the Conservatives maximize the number of councillors at the next Council elections
- To work closely with the Deputy-Chair (Membership & Events) and help initiate projects and implement a strategy to increase the fundraising throughout the Association
- To ensure that all monies received by the Office are processed and recorded in the appropriate way
- To have a clear understanding of the Association’s rules and to ensure that Officers and members are fully briefed as appropriate
- To work with the Association Officers in the production and implementation of a Business/Strategy Plan
- To sustain the membership of the Association and to communicate with that membership on a regular basis
The Constituency Organiser must:
- Be well organised, professional and punctual
- Have strong written and communication skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Office
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be able to lead and motivate colleagues and activists
- Have excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills, together with flexibility, adaptability, strong attention to detail, resilience, and a determination to succeed
- Be passionate about Conservative Values
Desirable:
- Experience of creating social media content
- Understanding of website management
- Experience in liaising with journalists and the media
