The short list of the four candidates to be in the running as the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for South Cambridgeshire in the 2015 general election are (in alphabetical order):
▲ Heidi Allen ▲ Jo Churchill
▲ Charlotte Vere ▲ Helen Whately
They will go before a special meeting of SCCA Members on October 11th to see which of them will be chosen as our PPC.
Each candidate has submitted 100 words about themselves, together with a photograph (above) – click here for a copy of the Word file.
"As it happens, it's an all female shortlist – it definitely was NOT imposed upon us by anyone. It's simply the Sifting Committee, tasked with making the choice, thought these four were the very best from a field of 102, mainly high class candidates," said Colin Barker, SCCA Deputy Chairman, Membership and member of the SCCA Sifting Committee.
Each candidate has been asked to attend a Special General Meeting of SCCA Members on 11th October at Cambourne Village College when they will have the opportunity to present their case for being chosen as our PPC.
The meeting, which will be for paid up SCCA Members of three months standing only, will have an early start – doors open for registration at 9.30 am.
Specific details about the meeting have been posted to all members who are entitled to vote.
The general election is on 7 May 2015 – the same day as SCDC elections for 19 local seats.
