This year's annual constituency quiz (on 8 November and the fourth so far), moved to Comberton Village Hall – with Stephen Frost taking over the quizmaster duties from Colin Barker.
As in all good pub-style quizzes, he gave us questions which seemed pretty easy but actually needed a 'leftward glance' away from the obvious to come up with the right answer... although some of us went right instead of left and consequently didn't do so well.
Luck always plays a key part, of course, so if your team happened to include someone who is the world expert on... well this time is was the Carry On films. Did you know there are 32 of them? Tim Scott (Comberton's District Councillor) was able to name an extremely impressive 28 (or was it 29?) – and with all the other clever-clogs in his team wiped the floor to score 132 out of a possible 152.
Thanks for a really enjoyable evening goes to Stephen, Ann Smith, who kept the score, Denise Smith, Colin, Stephen and Ann, who organised the event, the raffle and the half-time 'lite bites', and Ann Smith, Ann Fryer and Penny and Robert Cook for their help with the washing up and storing the tables and chairs in the hall – and many others who kindly lent a hand to clear up.
And, of course to the eight teams for supporting the event.
