The Conservatives will extend the Right to Buy to up to 1.3m tenants of housing


Between now and 7th May, we will be sharing with you 15 reasons to vote Conservative on the big day with a combination of local and national issues.

7.  Right to Buy extended

This means:

  • The Conservatives will extend the Right to Buy to up to 1.3m tenants of housing associations in England.
  • This will allow more people to enjoy the security of home ownership.
  • The Conservatives also have a clear objective to build affordable homes.
  • They will create a £1bn Brownfield Regeneration Fund to unlock 400,000 new homes on brownfield land...
  • ... including 200,000 Starter Homes which will be sold at a 20% discount...
  • ... built exclusively for first time buyers under the age of 40.
  • And with South Cambridgeshire District Council's policy to build more council houses, it shows the Conservatives really care about providing homes for local people.
