15 reasons to vote Conservative on 7th May [8]

A million more children are now taught in good or outstanding schools.


Between now and 7th May, we will be sharing with you 15 reasons to vote Conservative on the big day with a combination of local and national issues.

8. A clear choice on education

This means:

  • Every child will be helped to master the basics.
  • These past five years have been about improving standards in every school...
  • ... the next five will be about going further – so every child gets the best start in life.
  • A future Conservative government will require any pupil who doesn’t meet the expected standards in reading, writing and adding up to resit their primary school exams in their first year of secondary school...
  • ... giving every child the support they need to fulfil their potential.
  • The Conservatives are already delivering better schools, with a million more children being taught in good or outstanding schools since 2010.*
