Developing superfast broadband and improving local infrastructure is central to boosting business and enterprise, bringing jobs and prosperity to the local economy and improving the quality of life of local communities.
This is why I am very pleased to say that work is at last underway to deliver faster and better broadband for Cambridgeshire. £30 million has been allocated to the delivery of this project and Cambridgeshire County Council is presently working to ensure 90% of all houses in the area have superfast broadband, with significantly improved access for the remainder.
Together with the County Council, I am hopeful that this access will be in place by 2015.
