Conservatives increase their majority at SCDC
The Conservative Party has increased its majority from seven to nine at SCDC following residents going to the polls on 3rd May to elect councillors for a third of the seats on South Cambridgeshire District Council.
The Party remains in overall control of the Council and now holds 33 seats – the Liberal Democrats have 16 (down two), Labour one (unchanged) and independent councillors seven (up one). Overall voter turnout was just under 35%.
The closest win was in Linton where Roger Hickford, Conservative, one by one vote – a just reward for the years of hard work he has put in locally. This was his third attempt at becoming a District Councillor.
