South Cambridgeshire's MP Andrew Lansley has urged local residents to support the Conservative candidate Sir Graham Bright in today's Police and Crime Commissioner election.
“We need a Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire who is focused on cutting crime and standing up for victims," says Andrew. "I have known Sir Graham for many years – he cares deeply about Cambridgeshire and understands the policing issues that matter most on a local level.
“He will work hard to prioritise a strong preventative approach to policing in order to maintain low levels of crime in South Cambridgeshire and build the vital relationships that ensure when we do need police support, there can be a rapid and strong response.
"Just as importantly, I know that he will get value out of every penny of the budget and focus all available resources on the front line.
“Here in South Cambridgeshire, we are lucky to have low levels of crime compared to other parts of the country. Even so, when people are unfortunate enough to be a victim of crime, they want to be sure that there will be a rapid and robust response.
“I look forward to working closely with our new PCC to help victims and witnesses, support the police to cut crime and make communities in Cambridgeshire safer."
