Patrons' Summer Drinks Party 2013
On a lovely July evening, around 100 people gathered at the Bassingbourn home of Jeremy and Sophie Bedford, to enjoy Champagne, canapés and convivial conversation. Jeremy is Chairman of Southern Cambridgeshire Conservatives Patrons' Club.
There were warm words of welcome from Lord Fairhaven and mini-speeches from local MPs Andrew Lansley (South Cambridgeshire), Sir James Paice (South East Cambridgeshire) and Jonathan Djanogly (Huntingdon). Being a Lib-Dem, the Cambridge City MP was not invited – the City is the fourth quarter of the Patrons' Club.
Jeremy thanked Patrons for being so supportive of our MPs and welcomed the guests to the party. "I encourage anyone not yet a Patron to join the Club and support your local Associations and MPs," he said.
He also announced the Autumn Dinner will be on 18th October at Lucy Cavendish College – the guest speaker will be Rt Hon Alan Duncan MP.
"I always encourage Patrons to bring guests to the October Dinner to hear from our local MPs about what's happening in Westminster and from other Ministers who discuss their own portfolios," he said. Click here for details and pictures of the 2012 Patrons' Dinner.
