The Association now has a Twitter account – twitter.com/SouthCambsCons.

"The main purpose is to help promote our events in public places, such as the Fish & Chip Supper and Sweet on 7th June in the Free Church Hall, Ashen Green High Street, Great Shelford," said Denise Smith, who does a lot of background work for our events as well as promoting them to Members via e-mails and flyers.

"Other Associations have found more people – members and non-members – going to their events since advertising them on Twitter, so we thought it was an idea we should try too."

"The beauty of Twitter lies in its simplicity.  Compared to other community web services like Facebook, Twitter is simple and straightforward to use," added Stephen Frost, the Association's Agent. "This makes it easy to check whether there have been any changes to the event, if someone you know is going and to let us have feed back and ideas for other events."
