A great fun evening between SCCA and SECCA
For the fourth annual Inter Constituency Quiz, Colin Barker once again produced a fun night with 120 'interesting' questions – a great mixture of tough and difficult plus the odd easier one too.
With the City not participating this year (much missed!) at least it meant the Association prize went to someone else for the first time – and it was us, the combined SCCA teams.
Oh! It was also an SCCA team (the Girtons Plus Two) who scooped the individual team prize, probably because they had serial winner Stephen Frost on their side (so that's made it four out of four wins for Stephen). Will we ever hear the last of this?
Thanks for a really enjoyable evening most go to Colin for the questions and Denise Smith, his ever able assistant, and to Robert Turner for the super supper, the Death By Chocolate cake being particularly scrumptous.
1. Denise Smith and super-quiz master, Colin Barker.
2. Quiz over, it's raffle time - Nathen, son of Kevin Cuffley, Sawston's new District Councillor, picking the next winner with the help of Stephen Frost.
3. The anxious wait as the numbers are called...
4. ... and the winner is – why, Iris Lay! Michael Scott is enjoying the moment, too.
5. I think I've won!
6. Girtons Plus Two – the team with the highest score (101 ot of 120). Dorothy Calder, Ann Smith, Stephen Frost, Ian Calder and Tom Bygott.
7. Jane and June and Terry and Gary of The Four Seasons, the team with the lowest score. Jean Bacon, on the right, a member of the The Willows team, was passing as the picture was taken!
8. The teams who represented SCCA, winners of the Association Trophy for the first time.
