In January 2021, the CambsYC branch was formally registered with CCHQ. South Cambridgeshire Conservative Association is the 'parent branch', but the CambsYC committee will have significant autonomy in the day-to-day running of the branch.
Currently, the Cambridgeshire Young Conservatives have 5 committee members:
- Max Fenton-Stone (Chairman and NWCCA Representative)
- Freddie Lindop (Deputy Chairman and SCCA Representative)
- Luigi Murton (Campaign Officer and SCCA Representative)
- Adam Bream (Social Secretary and NWCCA Representative)
- James Hutchcraft (Membership Officer and SECCA Representative)
Freddie Lindop: "Our aim is to bring together Young Conservative’s across Cambridgeshire in order to create a comfortable community for individuals to express themselves politically as well as becoming more involved locally, through campaigning. This is something I personally feel strongly about having witnessed the opportunity that being a member of this community can provide. I look forward to hosting future events to bring together young people as well as encouraging further involvement of young people to support the party in its future endeavours."
Our Constituency Organiser, Luigi Murton: "The creation of this branch is fantastic and it will help inspire a new generation of Conservatives. As someone who first got involved with the party aged 16, I have seen how branches like these can produce some fantastic young talent. We have a dedicated committee and I firmly believe this branch will be one of the best in the country".
In this year's County Council elections, South Cambridgeshire has two YC candidates standing and this number will hopefully increase in next year's District Council elections.
If you are under 26 (YC), membership of the Conservative Party costs just £5.
